Oxley Hill Farm Flowers - Power System Upgrade

Customer: Oxley Hill Farm Flowers, Bowral NSW

Project type: Electrical Construction and Engineering

Touchstone Systems provided a full electrical engineering and construction package for a site power system upgrade at Oxley Hill Farm Flowers, a working flower farm on Oxleys Hill Road, Bowral. The existing 110kVA pole transformer and ageing electrical infrastructure were no longer capable of supporting the site’s growing operational requirements.

The scope covered the complete upgrade of high and low voltage infrastructure across the property, from transformer to end distribution, including new switchboards, underground mains cabling, and a standby generator system—all carefully coordinated around ongoing farm operations.

Key deliverables included:

  • Upgrade of the existing 110kVA pole transformer to a new 315kVA unit, including HV fuse upgrades and LV mains connection, coordinated with the L1 ASP
  • Supply and installation of a new 400A main switchboard with integrated ATS, CT metering, SPD, and MCCBs, mounted in an in-ground pre-cast concrete culvert
  • Supply and installation of a new 250A secondary switchboard (MSB2) to serve the shouse, shed, and flower farm operations
  • Supply, installation, and CAT-certified commissioning of a 275kVA prime/standby generator
  • Installation of over 500 metres of underground mains cabling connecting the transformer, main switchboard, MSB2, generator, and house
  • Electrical engineering services including power system modelling, load analysis, discrimination studies, and formal commissioning sign-off

The project required close collaboration with Brennan Civil Infrastructure, who managed all trenching, backfill, and civil works. Touchstone Systems delivered the complete electrical scope on time, providing the site with a robust, future-ready power system capable of supporting its long-term energy needs.
